Tom Fritzscha
had his Eagle Board of Review on Thursday night (4/24/08) and is now Troop 26’s 86th and latest Eagle Scout!  Congratulations Tom!

 


Eagle Scout Project - Tom Fritzscha - Saturday Apr 12
8am until ~2pm - Blue Heron Court off Jackson Road - Directions (Same as Murphy's COH) - Tasks: Replace Roof, Replace Front Door, Install Fence.  BRING old clothes and gloves.


Apr 14 meeting - Summer Camp $100 Deposit DUE!
This will give you an awesome embroidered hat from Yawgoog... try to get one if you can!


Washington DC Trip

Apr 18-20, 2008 - Mark your calendars for this awesome camping trip!! - Contact George Youngkin.  Leaving 5pm Friday - Saturday Tour DC - Sunday Mt. Vernon.  Camping at Pohick Regional Park.  Fee will be $60 for the weekend.  Electronics ok on way up/back but NOT AT CAMPSITE!!  Bring your Class "A" Uniforms too!


  • We need Den Chiefs!  This position (for 6 months) can give you the service needed for Eagle.  See Mr. O'Connor.
     

  • Seabase '09 - looking for 2 more youth (and 1 adult) interested in the scuba certification program July 8-15, 2009.  Need $100 by 3/31/08.   Cost $755 + Air Fare.  See Joe Ribinsky for more information.
     

  • We are saving and recycling aluminum - if you have some, contact Mr. Ribinski - it will go toward your funding for scout activities!


Future Plans In Progress:

  • Canoe Trip being planned - will need to get swim tests for all.

  • Camping Trip (introductory) is being planned

  • Bowling Trip will be on a meeting night - Stay Tuned for this one!

  • Rock Wall climbing - looking into costs - will try to do soon also.


    TIP FOR NEW SCOUTS (and old ones too!!):
    Merit badges are needed to get your Eagle rank - you can work on them AT HOME during these months, and there are lots of adult counselors to help you get them completed.  Work an hour or two each week, and before you know it - you will be done!!

Updated Forms Available!  The updated Parent Permission form now incorporates the new Troop 26 "Code of Conduct".  Both the parent/guardian and scout are now required to sign this updated form prior to all trips and events. This version of the permission form is now required on all trips, including the upcoming trip to Washington DC.  Download them here:  (word-file  /  adobe-pdf-file)

Check out the new 'code of conduct' written by the scouts of troop 26.  This will be used for all future events along with 'parent permission form' we have always used.

Meeting Location now Medford Emergency Medical Services (20 Jackson Road) near the intersection with Stokes (see map here).  Unless otherwise notified we will meet at EMS.

Scoutmaster - Paul O'Connor

Want to join a BSA troop? Troop 26, Medford NJ is a Boy Scouts of America troop established in the 1930's that is chartered by the Medford United Methodist Church.  We meet Monday evenings 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Medford Emergency Medical Services on Jackson near Stokes (Directions). Our troop is very active with weekly meetings and at least one campout or activity each month. Please stop in and say hello!
