May 2, 9:30 until 11am - Operation 'Knock Off'
=================================
The Burlington County Health Department will be staging Operation Knock Off, and are in need of victim role players, who pretend to be ill. This is a great opportunity to satisfy a key requirement for the Emergency Preparedness Merit Badge, which is eagle required. Attached please find the registration form. We are encouraging the Troop to participate! Anyone who does will receive a blue card for the merit badge and have this requirement signed off. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Youngkin.  Note that this also fulfills a major requirement for Emergency Preparedness Merit badge!

We are trying to find out who is interested in a white water rafting trip asap. We have to coordinate a swim test and get a deposit in, for June 27/28 weekend. Please email gyoungkin@aol.com if you are interested.

In May the boys will be working on a theme for the Spring Camporee. We also have a FUNDRAISER OPPORTUNITY! May 16 (5/17 Raindate) is the Medford Car Show. Our troop has been approved to sell pretzels, and it looks like it will be almost all profit. Looking for scouts available to do a shift or two that day.

Adult Leadership Changes:  Please note Paul O’Connor has stepped down as Scoutmaster (now committee member). George Youngkin is the new Scoutmaster. Nancy Flynn is the new Committee Chair. Also, Maureen Cummings is our new Chartered Organization Representative for the Methodist church.  Thanks to Paul for all of his years of 'scoutmaster' duty!

Troop 26 has moved! (to a new meeting location !!)
The Troop is now meeting at the Tauton Lakes Fire Hall. Our first night at the new location was September 22nd.  Map here  (Rule#1 - stay away from the firetrucks!!)

  • We are saving and recycling aluminum - if you have some, contact Mr. Ribinski - it will go toward your funding for scout activities!

TIP FOR NEW SCOUTS (and old ones too!!):
Merit badges are needed to get your Eagle rank - you can work on them AT HOME during these months, and there are lots of adult counselors to help you get them completed.  Work an hour or two each week, and before you know it - you will be done!!
