POLE controversy mars troop sendoff...

"... there are unauthorized Poles on the trip." - Pete D.

Dateline: Medford NJ church parking lot, 8:18AM Saturday July 19

Jarring an otherwise peaceful gathering of scouts for the annual summer camp event was the revelation by Mr. Peter D. that unauthorized poles have been spotted amongst the troop gear.  "I thought it was clear, that MY poles were to be used" Pete angrily shouted at an unsuspecting adult.

As reported earlier, poles have been constructed to simulate a synthetic environment for the boys so that nature won't intrude during the week.  "It has been determined that a boy earning no merit badges and eating minimum food during the week could spend most of his camp experience inside this manufactured assembly thus avoiding nearly all contact with the environment." said Pete.  "These quantity and length of these poles have been accurately determined using advanced math and quality has been verified to ensure that almost everybody will have 2 or 3 of them at camp.  And now this..."

The adult in question stated "...but ... but... these are the poles I used last year" but that didn't seem to pacify the accusing adult.  Sobbing later, Pete revealed "I try and try to do my best and then an incident like this comes along..."

As always, angry letters should be sent to "Troop Committee Chair", Troop 26, BSA and donations to the Mental Health Association of Southern New Jersey are strongly encouraged.
