Troop 26 Committee Meeting - 7:30pm August 23, 2005

1) Opening Notes:

Health concerns: Paul O. who was in hospital, Ed with pnemonia.
Good week at Yawgoog & good time at Jamboree also.
Yawgoog:  42 merit badges, 11 advancements, 23 attendees (2 life, 5 1st, 3 2nd class)

2) Treasurer's Report - Phil Gruender

$1576.35 - still ok to subsidize trips.  Yawgoog big expense - and credits to scout accounts.
55 T-shirts still in inventory.  $200 in council account.  No subsidy in '05 Yawgoog, did $20 in 2004.
Will pay for trailer hauling (Paul O.) - cover fuel one way due to additional load of trailer.
Made $858 last year on popcorn.
Need popcorn chair - Carol B. did last year - Sep 26 kickoff meeting, Sep 15 early bird order.

3) Recruitment efforts, assigned responsibilities, dates, etc.

Mike had done phone calling around to the various packs, and we discussed efforts and opportunities at each one.

Pack 26 - Sep 1 7pm leader meeting - decent sized pack but still have negative TR26 rumors there.
Pack 108 - Wendy - issues with prior events with TR26 - need to resolve.  TR48 active there.
Pack 300 - James McCarthy is den chief there.

Will ask Deadre Gray to work PR issues for troop.  Mike will handle Den Chief coordination.
Bob G.: Need strong TR26 program to attract kids!

4) Schedule of events 2005-2006 program

We spent a fair amount of time planning the events for the troop.  These are all posted and maintained on the website.  We decided to not attend the Oct 7-8 camporee in lieu of our backpack trip the 3rd week Oct 22-23.  We assigned suggested people to many of the events, and planned thru Jun of 2006.
