MAKE YOUR RESERVATION NOW FOR THIS GREAT EVENT! Lodging: Tents of course, silly! Details: This council camporees are AWSOME events. You will have a great time sleeping under the stars and competing with other troops for awards. To participate the canoeing and kayaking, you will need to have “current swimmer” credentials. Calling all Scouts and leaders - young and old - join us for a fun filled weekend to enjoy the “Great Outdoors.” Here is a sneak preview of some of the activities we will be introducing to Scouts: Canoeing – Kayaking – Fly Fishing – Mountain Biking – Hiking – Pie Cooking Contest – Pie Eating Contest – And much more... Activities will include something for all ages. You bring ‘em, we’ll keep ‘em busy as a bee all day Saturday. Canoeing and Kayaking will be conducted in accordance with the Guide to Safe Scouting. Scoutmasters will be required to complete a form confirming the scout is a current “swimmer” and that the scout meets the Guide to Safe Scouting requirements. This will be done upon arrival, at the latest, before receiving instruction. Younger scouts (Second Class and below), who will not participate in kayaking and canoeing, will be able to participate in fishing and will also be exposed to some earlier requirements dealing with nature and hiking. Because of the unique location of this Camporee, we are offering the following: 1. Your Troop/Crew may hike in on Saturday via the Batona Trail You plan the arrival, execute it and we’ll provide the sleeping location, fun on Saturday and entertainment on Saturday Night. Speaking of Saturday Night, enjoy our campfire program featuring: • “Ben” = The Littlest Scout – This Guy is a Real Mess!!!• Scouts and Adult Leaders o Skitso Songs o Stories “That’ll be funny right there – I don’t care who you are. If you can’t laugh at that you need to get outta here…” - Larry the Cable Guy Adult Coordinator: Mr. Dave Costello |
