Hike will be from Lower Forge to Apple Pie Hill.  Exit from hike near Chatsworth
near route 532 on the northeast side of Wharton State Forest.  Maps will be available

Cedar Ridge Camp Ground    (back to top)

1) 206 North to the NJ Turnpike North
2) Take the Turnpike to the Garden State Parkway North
3) Exit at  I287 North from the turnpike to I 80 West
4) Get off I 80 at exit 34 which is Rt 15 and head North
5) Stay on Rt 15 for 18 miles and get on Rt 206 North
6) Go about 15.5 miles on Rt 206 to Montague and turn right on
Rt 521. If you get to the bridge to PA you have gone too far.
7) Cedar Ridge Campground is about 2 miles up the road. The
office closes at 9PM. the phone number is 973-293-3512.

The trip will take a good 3 hours.

Itinerary: Start hike on AT at High Point Saturday ~9am,
Camp on AT Sat night about 7 miles along trail (SW). 
Sunday about 3 miles out to end of Sunrise Road.

From Shawnee High School going East, proceed down Tabernacle Road crossing Rt 206 on 
Medford Lakes Road to Chatsworth.  Make right on 532 going on 
Chatsworth Road then Tabernacle Chatsworth Road into town of Chatsworth.  
Then cross 563 taking Chatsworth Barnegat Road to Route 72.  
Proceed on 72 crossing 532 Wells Mills Road, bearing left at the 
old fork onto 534.  Left on Brookville road will lead to Citta Scout Camp 
on the right side of the road. ( IF DRIVING - Take Rt 70 to Rt 72 to Brookville )

Directions from Route 295 North, Bordentown to exit #4: Take 
Route 31 North to Farmington Circle (first Circle).  Take Route 546 
West (372 around) to Washington Crossing Bridge, cross bridge.  
Turn right on route 32.  Camporee will be on your left near the 
visitor center.  Watch for signs.

McGuire Air Force Base Officer's Club   (back to top)

From intersection of Route 206 and 537:

  • Head East on Route 537 (cross Route 68)
  • Make a right at the Wrightstown-Georgetown Road (Route 545) intersection.  This 4-lane highway turns into the McGuire A.F.B. Access Rd (Route 680).  Stay on this 4-lane highway.
  • At the end of the access road (Main Gate #2 will be directly in front of you) take a left onto Wrightstown-Cookstown Rd. (Route 616)
  • Take a right at the first traffic light (into gate #1).
  • The Officer's Club is about a 1/2 mile down on the left.

USS Massachusetts Battleship     (back to top)

Battleship: On even years, we 'camp out' on the battleship USS Massachusetts, in Battleship Cove, Mass.  The battleship USS Massachusetts is only ~ 40 miles beyond Yawgoog in Mass.  Take Interstate 95 North to 195 East; follow 195 East for approximately 14 miles to the Braga Bridge in Massachusetts; take Exit 5 (from the Braga Bridge), bear left at the fork in the road, turn left at the first stop sign and left at the first traffic light onto Central Street; proceed down the hill to Battleship Cove. CAREFUL YOU DON'T TURN AT THE FIRST EXIT 5 (in Rhode Island) !!  You will cross the bridge and see the battleship on your left before you come to exit 5 in Mass.

Leaving Church at 6pm, returning ~10am Sunday.  Directions:

Take Northeast Extension of PA Turnpike (Route 476) to Exit 35 (Rt 80)
West on Route 80 to Exit 40.
Go west on Route 940 for 1/2 mile.
Turn left (south) onto Lehigh Gorge Drive toward weatherly.
Go Exactly 5 miles.
Turn right onto Buck Mountain Road just before Gulf service station.
Go 1 mile to first intersection.
Turn right again onto Stagecoach Road.
Go 300 yards to our entrance on the right.
