 October Camporee
       
Oct 19-21, 2001

   Leaving: Methodist Church at 4:30 pm  (camporee checkin 5-9pm) and later group leaving at 6:30pm.
   Returning:
Memorial School Sunday ~11am

  Location: Bellplain State Forest, Woodbine, NJ in Cape May County

  Details:  Bring $$ for dinner on the way up for 4:30pm crowd (6:30pm try to eat first), lunch on the way back.  Bring warm clothes, gloves, hats, boots for outside.  Permission slip of course.  Tent camping. Cook for ourselves. LEARN ALL OF YOUR KNOTS AND LASHINGS!!

  Bring: Full uniform (of course), warm clothes, sleeping bag, wet gear, fishing gear 
  (optional), permission slip

  Cost: $15 due Monday Oct 15 before the trip with attendance commitment. $20 after (up to leaving Friday of trip) (we have to buy food.. it costs more at the last minute!)

  Theme: Pioneering BASICS - no nails, no mechanical devices, just plain old rope and  wood.  Show off your individual and troop skills in knot tying, lashings, camp gadgets, and  pioneering construction!

  Tentative Schedule: 
  Friday: drive up, settle in, orient group, construct camp gear!
Lashings!

  Saturday
: Lots of activities including:  Patrol knot tying relays, Individual knot tying contests, Travios building / race, Flagpole lashing contest (3 poles and free standing), Best Camp Gate, Most lashed Camp Gadgets, Best Dutch Oven Dessert, Best Pioneering Project, Special Scoutmaster Knot Relay... this will knot be your usual camporee!

  Sunday:  Pack up in AM, final ceremony, return around 11am.
