Info: Delaware Water Gap Backpack & Hiking Trip

Special Meeting: April 1 - Monday - Special meeting for Watergap April 6-7 Hikers & Backpackers @ 7:00pm - Bring all your gear packed up, ready to go including BOOTS!  Bring a bag to take back home stuff you don't need (we will tell you what you don't need at the meeting!)

Where:  Delaware Water Gap to Blairstown Road Trail by Sunfish Pond.

Directions: Driving Directions to Worthington State Forest

1) From chruch parkin glot make a RIGHT on Hartford Road
2) RIGHT on Rt. 70
3) LEFT on Rt. 541
4) LEFT on Rt. 130 SOUTH
5) RIGHT on Burlington Bristol Bridge Access Road
6) Go over bridge and at teh end of access road, turn LEFT on Rt 413
7) Take Rt. 413 to I-95 NORTH
8) Stay on I-95 north and cross bridge back in to NJ. Get off at Rt. 31
NORTH
9) I don't know the distance, but stay on Rt. 31 through Flemington and
further north.
10) Rt. 31 Ends at Rt 46, Turn LEFT
11) Take Rt. 46 to I-80 WEST
12 Just before the bridge into PA, ther is an exit that should indicate a
rest area. Take that exit and at the bottom there are two parking lots. The
second one is the Trail Head for the AT.

For Vic and Adam who are meeting us later in the day, you will hit the trail
at Mohician Road.

1) Start on Rt. 541 NORTH
2) LEFT on Rt. 130 SOUTH
3) RIGHT on Burlington Bristol Bridge Access Road
4) Go over bridge and at teh end of access road, turn LEFT on Rt 413
5) Take Rt. 413 to I-95 NORTH
6) Stay on I-95 north and cross bridge back in to NJ. Get off at Rt. 31
NORTH
7) I don't know the distance, but stay on Rt. 31 through Flemington and
further north.
8) Rt. 31 Ends at Rt 46, Turn LEFT
9) Rt. 46 ends at I-80 Look for Rt 94 and take that towards Blairstown.
10) Turn LEFT on Mohican Road
11) Turn LEFT on Gaiser Road.
12) Turn RIGHT on Four Corners Road or Camp Mohician Road. That road will
cross the trail. You want to go SOUTH WEST on the trail (or head left from
where the road meets the trail) The AT has White Blazes. Call us on the
either on a Walkie Talkie or cell phone 609-620-5126 if you are confused.

Directions from the end of the hike to the beginning where the cars will be
parked

1) We end at Rt 602. Take that SOUTH WEST to Rt 94 and turn RIGHT
2) Take that to I-80 and head WEST
3) Exit just before the PA bridge and look for the parking lot.

Leaving:   Saturday from Methodist Church at 7:00AM SHARP  be there at 6:30AM

Sunday at Methodist Church between 2 and 3 PM

 Notes:  Breakfast Saturday eat BEFORE YOU COME we won't be stopping, Sunday bring ~$5 for lunch

 DetailsBring appropriate backpacking gear including seasonal clothes, gloves, stocking hat or hat with ear protection, gloves, waterproof boots, rain gear, dry socks (extras!).  Pack gear in garbage bags to keep dry just in case.  BRING broken-in-boots!  Permission slip of course.  Sleeping in tents outside.  It may be COLD though, so prepare to dress for the weather (including face & hands).  Sleeping bag recommended - this will be 10 to 15 degress COLDER than Medford.  Buddy system a MUST this weekend - groups of 4 minimum. YOUR BACKPACK MUST BE CHECKED OUT BEFORE THE TRIP.  IF YOU WEAR SNEAKERS (instead of broken-in boots), YOU CANNOT COME ALONG AND WILL BE SENT HOME.
